We have an exciting new upgrade planned for Murwillumbah’s Saddle Way Park.
By partnering with the local community, we aim to revitalise and modernise the park to create a recreational space that’s more inclusive of everyone, with better play equipment and park facilities.
The park upgrade will also improve its resilience to future weather events.
Project schedule
- Planning: Early 2024
- Construction: Late 2024
What’s involved
- New play equipment for 2 to 13 year olds
- Scooter loop
- New basket swing
- Nature play
- Accessible drinking fountain
- Picnic table and shelter
- Landscaping and tree planting for natural shade
Why it’s happening
- The existing playground was damaged in a severe weather event in 2022.
- The park’s existing play equipment has reached the end of its useful life.
Benefits to the community
The new play space will offer a variety of play and social experiences to challenge, excite and promote active and healthy lifestyles. It will be inclusive, supporting everyone to play.
