06 November 2020
Extended trading hours and a new menu on offer at Tweed Heads
If you are looking for a café with a social heart, offering great food and drinks in a friendly relaxed atmosphere - drop into Brett Street CAFÉ.
The community café, located in the Tweed Heads Civic and Cultural Centre complex, is offering a fresh new menu and has extended its trading hours to cater for demand.
The CAFÉ (Community Access For Everyone) is a social enterprise initiative of Tweed Shire Council with income generated going towards the delivery of community services programs to help support eligible people in the Tweed.
Visit the café for a coffee, cold drink or some homemade, healthy and affordable meals in the civic centre plaza or make the most of its ‘Grab and Go’ selection including sandwiches, rolls and snacks.
The new reasonably priced ‘Meals to Go’ menu offers pre-ordered quality meals, including roasts and vegetarian dishes, ready to be collected in microwave-safe containers to be taken home, heated up and enjoyed.
‘Meals to Go’ can be ordered Monday to Friday for pick up the next day. Simply place your order the day before and then drop by to pick it up between 12 noon and 1.30pm. Orders to be picked up on Friday need to be placed by the Wednesday.
These meals can be subsidised for eligible people under the My Aged Care Meal Services and NDIS scheme.
Café supervisor Allan Gibson’s new menu coincides with longer trading hours, now Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2pm.
Located just a few minutes’ walk from the Tweed Hospital, Brett Street CAFÉ provides a convenient alternative for those people visiting patients or medical staff just looking to take a break.
Brett Street CAFÉ follows COVID-Safe regulations and is a great community group meeting place and offers a catering service for collection from the café, available to anyone interested.
