Event sponsorship funding round open

05 March 2020

Grants available to host and grow festivals and events in the Tweed

Applications for Tweed Shire Council’s 2020-2021 Events Sponsorship funding round opened this week.

Council is encouraging all event organisers to consider applying for funding to support a range of events including community, sporting, food, music and arts.

Applications close on 31 March 2020 and will be considered at Council’s meeting on 2 July.

Events Officer Kerrie McConnell said the funding opportunities are designed to help existing events grow and to attract exciting new event opportunities to the Tweed.

“Events are important to our local economy as they enrich our sense of place and create economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits,” she said.

“We are working hard with the event and tourism industry to develop our region’s capacity to deliver authentic and well-organised events.”

Council's Land and Economic Development team can discuss the benefits of holding your event on the Tweed. They can also provide professional support to help your event succeed including advice on event applications, road closures and grants, as well as networking and business collaboration opportunities.

The Event Sponsorship Policy is also open for feedback in preparation for an upcoming review. All event organisers are encouraged to view the current policy and take the short survey at www.yoursaytweed.com.au/eventsponsorshippolicy.
