There's plenty to do locally these school holidays

There’s no shortage of events to keep the kids entertained locally these school holidays. Tweed Shire Council has pulled together 23 of the best free or low cost events for kids across the Tweed.

Council is encouraging families to join in the holiday fun by attending some of the great events and activities being held at our local facilities.

There’s something for everyone, including indoor activities, creative workshops as well as the famous giant hill waterslide.

Some of the activities include:

• Creative and meditative activities inspired by the summer exhibition Healing Circle – Home at the Tweed Regional Gallery

• A family day out at the Tweed Regional Aquatic Centre. The giant hill waterslide and diving boards are open every day during the NSW school holidays from 10am to 4pm and family passes are only $30 when purchased online

• Hands-on activities including an interactive virtual video tour as part of the Discovery Days program at the Tweed Regional Museum and Tweed Shire Libraries and a fishing workshop (booked out)

Council’s Director Sustainable Communities & Environment, Tracey Stinson, said the Tweed has some of the best facilities in the area to enjoy with your kids.

“There’s plenty of free and low cost activities happening across the Tweed, we also have some of the best parks and playgrounds to enjoy,” Mr Stinson said.

“The Tweed is home to some of the best beaches and beautiful World Heritage listed National Parks to explore if the conditions are safe.”
