Family friendly programs these Easter holidays at the Gallery

DIY movement going strong with artist books, zines and bush jewellery

Drop in for some ART PLAY or book into a workshop at the Tweed Regional Gallery, Murwillumbah these Easter holidays.

The whole family can join in the creative fun at Tweed Regional Gallery during the holidays. Book the kids in for a workshop while you enjoy new exhibitions and the Gallery Café, or book in to a workshop yourself. Class sizes are small and our artist-educators are passionate about sharing skills and a love of learning about art.

Activities for kids

Create your own zine or artist book in free facilitated ART PLAY sessions on Wednesday 17 and 24 April, from 11am until 1pm. Don’t forget there are also activities on offer in the Margaret Olley Art Centre (MOAC) including the beautiful MOAC Kids’ Guide acitvity book and the opportunity to create iPad artworks while enjoying listening to a symphony through the earphones.

Workshops for teens

Book a place in ART MAKER-TEENS Bushcraft meets the Beach workshop with Rebecca Ward on Monday 15 April. Those lucky enough to secure a spot will create recycled necklaces, earrings and objects from natural materials including sticks and seeds, found objects from beaches, recycled brass and sterling silver.

Workshop for adults

Why should the kids have all the fun? On Sunday 14 April you can book a place in our Creative Workshop for Adults Post Apocalyptic Jewellery with Rebecca Ward. Learn the techniques of cold connections and metal findings as well as how to combine different materials into art pieces with different meanings.

10.30am – 1.30pm | $65/60**

Current exhibitions include Dis/closures by Sienna van Rossum; A Walk in the Poet’s Garden by Dean Home; Maria Kontis’ exhibition in the Friends Gallery; as well as Three Decades: celebrating the Tweed Regional Gallery collection and Margaret Olley: from the collection.

The Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Admission is free.
