What is your vision for Fingal Head?

09 April 2019

Come along to Community Conversations next month to have your say

Tweed Shire Council is preparing a Locality Plan for Fingal Head and invites residents to join Council at a Community Conversation to share your vision for the future of the village.

By adding your voice to the conversation you will help to influence decision making about your local area and contribute to the development of the Fingal Head Locality Plan.

A key part of Council’s strategic land use planning is the preparation of locality plans to guide future development so it is compatible with the community’s vision for the locality.

A locality plan generally involves detailed site analysis and assessment, extensive community consultation, development of a vision for the locality and planning strategies and controls aimed at achieving that vision.

A substantial amount of community feedback was collected during the Fingal Head Building Height Review (2016-2018). This is a great base for Council and the community to start the Locality Planning process as it provides a solid foundation to build on.

Acting Unit Coordinator - Strategic Planning & Urban Design, Jonathan Lynch said this community consultation will ask the community to identify and describe what they see as the specific elements that contribute to the character of Fingal Head.

“With this detail, Council will work together with the community to create a shared community vision for the future of Fingal Head,” Mr Lynch said.

“Whether you have given feedback before or are new to the process, now is your opportunity to have your say and we want to hear from you.”

All are welcome to Community Conversations on Tuesday 14 May from 2-4pm and at 6-8pm at Fingal Rovers Surf Life Saving Club. Seating is limited so to reserve your space please RSVP to http://tweedshire.eventbrite.com.au
