Join the conversation about a potential skate park at Kingscliff

23 April 2018

Registrations to attend meeting open on Friday

Anyone interested in youth space at Kingscliff is invited to a Community Conversation about a potential skate park and youth space in Kingscliff will be held next Wednesday at Cudgen Leagues Club.

Council’s Acting Director Community and Natural Resources, Stewart Brawley said there had been a lot of community interest in Kingscliff in recent months about the development of a skate park in the town.

“At their meeting on 5 April, Tweed Shire councillors unanimously voted to hold a community roundtable discussion on the topic,” Mr Brawley said.

An independent facilitator will guide community discussion about youth recreational facilities, so Council can be better informed on community opinions about possible locations, design and park works associated with the development of any youth and recreation space in Kingscliff in the future.

This community conversation will inform Stage Two of consultation on Council's Open Space Strategy, due to commence in the next few months. As part of this consultation there will be additional opportunities for Kingscliff and the broader community to have their input to the priorities and actions of the Open Space Strategy before it is finally adopted by Council in late 2018.
