Afternoon tea for NDIS participants

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants will have another chance to find out more about the new program and how it will affect their day-to-day lives, when Tweed Community Services hosts an informal morning tea in South Tweed on Tuesday 5 December.

The NDIS Participant Information Sessions are being held at the Community Services Building at South Tweed each month, so NDIS participants, their family and carers can chat to service providers in a relaxed environment.

“They can drop in any time between 2pm and 3.30pm to discuss changes under the NDIS and My Aged Care,” Coordinator Community Services, Joanne Watters, said.

“They can talk to members of the Tweed Community Services support coordination team about options that enable them to keep living at home for longer.”

Tweed Community Services is a registered NDIS service provider, offering Community Options with professional support coordination to help participants make the most of their NDIS plan.

It has a team of client practitioners that provide support coordination, the regional assessment service and other community services.

“We have a long history and a lot of experience working for the community,” Ms Watters said.

“Our team is very passionate about helping people and making their lives better.”

The afternoon tea is free and open to all NDIS participants. RSVPs are required by phoning (07) 5569 3110.
