Legal advice on development application for service station on agenda

An Extraordinary Meeting of Council will be held this afternoon, commencing at 4pm in the Council Chambers in Murwillumbah.

The item to be considered is legal advice on a matter in the Land and Environment Court regarding development application DA2016/1159 for a service station at 279-283 Tweed Valley Way Murwillumbah. Council’s direction is sought on providing delegation to the General Manager and Council’s legal representatives to seek to resolve key issues in this legal appeal.

Councillors Ron Cooper and Warren Polglase requested the Extraordinary Meeting, which is likely to move into confidential session and exclude members of the public, should there be any need to discuss confidential and privileged legal advice.
