Marine Parade footpath reconstructed as revitalisation strides ahead

Carpark spaces closed today while footpath is rebuilt
A section of Kingscliff’s Marine Parade carpark is closed today while the adjacent footpath is replaced as part of the Kingscliff Foreshore Revitalisation.
Those parking spaces are expected to be available again from tomorrow.
It had previously been planned to construct the footpath in stages, because of the scheduling of works on the overall project and to minimise the number of parking spaces that would be closed at any one time.
However, a change in the availability in contactors meant the footbath could be constructed sooner and all in one day.
Project Manager Stewart Brawley said safety fencing would then be returned between the carpark and new footpath for about three weeks, while connecting paths were constructed.
“The fencing will then be moved further back onto the worksite, reinstating access along this path to the pedestrian crossing in front of the cenotaph.
The footpath’s replacement is among the latest stages as the revitalisation progresses steady, with the construction of the rock wall, Kingscliff Central Park and an upgraded Kingscliff Beach Holiday Park.
