Council begins first Blackspot Programme for the year

Council started work today (31 January 2017) to fix an identified Blackspot on Clothiers Creek Road, between the Pacific Motorway and Wallum Court, Clothiers Creek, to improve safety for motorists.

The $550,000 project is being funded by the Australian Government’s Blackspot Programme and is the first of two to be undertaken in Tweed Shire this financial year.

The road will be reduced to one-lane flow under the management of stop / slow flagmen for approximately six weeks between 7am and 5pm weekdays while workers excavate the roadside and realign the curve.

Motorists are advised to expect short delays.
