Extraordinary meeting of Council to consider Kings Forest

24 January 2017

Motion put forward by Councillor Milne to review legal options

An extraordinary meeting will be held by Council this afternoon to discuss matters relating to the Kings Forest major project, including a proposed service centre.

The application has previously been refused by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and is now the subject of an appeal by the proponent in the Land and Environment Court.

The meeting will consider a motion from Councillor Katie Milne relating to Kings Forest major project Approval no MP08-0194 Modification No 3, that:

  • Council seeks urgent legal advice as to whether it is legally possible for Council to join in the current legal proceedings with the aim of defending the refusal of this development application on the grounds outlined in Council's previous submission

  • If the legal advice is positive, that Council proceeds to urgently join these proceedings to defend this refusal

The meeting starts at 4.30pm (NSW time) and will be preceded by a speaker in community access at 4pm.
