An Extraordinary meeting of Council will be held on Thursday 19 December following a rescission motion by Councillors Chris Cherry, Reece Byrnes and Nola Firth relating to the future use of land at 99 Elrond Drive, Kingscliff.
The meeting will be held at 4 pm in the Council Chambers at the Murwillumbah Civic and Cultural Centre in Tumbulgum Road, Murwillumbah.
The meeting relates to a single agenda item, which seeks to rescind (remove) the resolution from Item 17.4 of the Council Meeting held on 11 December 2024 – Future use of land – 99 Elrond Drive, Kingscliff (supported by Cr Brinsmead, Cr Dennis, Cr Hone, Cr Owen), being:
"that Council:
1. In relation to 99 Elrond Drive, Kingscliff NSW 2487, being Lot 36 DP793925, Lot 45 DP830193, Lot 56 DP840688, Lot 68 DP855991 and Lot 76 DP855992, resolves to return the land to parkland for community recreation and environmental benefits.
2. Requests the General Manager to write to NSW Reconstruction Authority advising of point 1 above."
be rescinded.
Should the rescission motion be successful, Councillors will then consider a Notice of Motion submitted by Councillor Cherry.
