A program designed to help reconnect, entertain and educate our senior citizens has been compiled for this year’s Tweed Seniors Festival, which kicks off next week.
Held as part of NSW Seniors Week from Friday 25 March to Sunday 3 April 2022, the program is full of variety.
It will commence with the official opening at Tweed Heads Civic and Cultural Centre Auditorium on Friday, 25 March at 10am.
Originally the opening ceremony was planned to be held in the Murwillumbah Civic Centre auditorium but it has been repurposed as a flood recovery centre, forcing the change of venue.
To accommodate the move, a free bus shuttle service will be provided by Council, departing Murwillumbah Civic Centre at 9 am on 25 March, stopping at Condong Post Office at 9:10 am and Tumbulgum Post Office at 9:20 am. Bookings for this service are essential.
The opening ceremony will also feature the presentation of Local Achievement Awards, entertainment and light refreshments.
The theme of this year’s NSW festival is Reconnect and organisers of the Tweed event have ensured this is key with a host of events designed to bring people together.
From concerts to bus tours, morning teas, craft workshops, fitness classes and education sessions, the Tweed Seniors Festival aims to ensure there’s plenty to keep seniors busy.
There are activities daily with some events being held over the duration of the festival.
