The Uki Water Treatment Plant is operating again and local water reservoirs are now filling.
In consultation with NSW Health, Tweed Shire Council is resupplying Uki with freshly treated water from the Uki Water Treatment Plant. Tests confirm the water is safe to drink.
Water is no longer being tankered into the village from the Bray Park Water Treatment Plant supply.
Council will lift Uki’s water restrictions at 11:59 pm tonight.
Council’s Manager Water and Wastewater Operations Brie Jowett thanked the Uki community for conserving water while Council tankered water and crews worked hard to get the water treatment plant up and running again.
All of the Tweed’s reticulated water supply network is now fully operational with no water restrictions or need to boil water in any areas of the Shire.
