A recovery centre for Tweed residents and businesses impacted by the recent floods will open Saturday 5 March at the auditorium in the Murwillumbah Civic and Cultural Centre.
Resilience NSW has committed to opening the centre which will initially provide a limited range of services but scaling up as organisations become better resourced.
Hours: 9 am - 5 pm daily

Mayor of Tweed Cr Chris Cherry welcomed the announcement and said the centre would provide a one stop destination for the community seeking support.
“Together with Resilience NSW, Council is doing all it can to help residents and businesses get back on their feet after the worst flood in the Tweed’s recorded history,” Cr Cherry said.
“The centre will allow people seeking government support to find out what is available and how they can access it quickly and easily.”
The recovery centre will be operational in the auditorium next to the Council Chambers after 9 am on Saturday.
A number of local donation centres have been established in Murwillumbah to assist flood victims and accept specific donated items.

Council has also been advised that GIVIT is working with the NSW Government to manage offers of donated goods, services, volunteering and funds for NSW flood victims.
The organisation with the State Government, will ensure donations are managed to support impacted communities in a targeted manner.
