Tweed road network update - Tropical Cyclone Alfred

07 March 2025

residents to stay off the roads as severe weather conditions create hazardous driving conditions across the area.

Council is urging the community to exercise extreme caution when travelling across the road network following the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

While widespread road closures have not been implemented, the current weather conditions have made it unsafe for Council crews to safely assess and barricade all affected roads.

Transport for NSW has issued an adverse weather advice on Live Traffic for all roads across the Tweed Local Government Area, advising residents to delay all non-essential travel.

Roads are considered closed when water or other obstacles are present regardless of whether signs or barriers are visible. We urge residents to stay informed by regularly checking flood cameras. These cameras are located at key locations around the Tweed to help provide real-time updates on road closures, flood levels, and other impacts helping you make safer decisions and better prepare for flooding.

Please note that power outages and communication disruptions may affect the frequency and accuracy of updates.
