The North Coast tourism spotlight will be firmly on the Tweed this month when it hosts the North Coast 2023 Tourism Symposium and Gala Tourism Awards dinner on Thursday 27 July 2023.

The theme for this year’s symposium is ‘Redefining Normal’ which looks at changing trends in consumer attitudes and behaviours in a post-COVID world.

Among the trends examined will be the use of digital technology and the growing demand for integration of wellness and sustainability principles in products and destinations.

The day will include an inspiring and thought-provoking opening keynote presentation from Eliane Miles.  Eliane is a social researcher, strategist, and trends analyst.

She is the founder of The Curious Co (thecurious.co), an insights and strategy consultancy that delivers practical strategic direction to clients across a wide range of industries.

As well as Eliane, a host of compelling speakers, an interactive format, and updates on Destination North Coast's activities along with those of Destination NSW and Tourism Australia will be provided.

The symposium will start at 8:45am sharp and close at 4:15 pm on Thursday 27 July 2023 and will be held at Peppers Salt Resort and Spa, Kingscliff. Tickets are still available.

Prior to the symposium, delegates will be able to experience a Northern Rivers Rail Trail Activity (PDF) on the Tweed section of the trail on Wednesday, 26 July when delegates can ride to Stokers Siding and Hosanna Farmstay and experience for themselves why it is so popular.
