December 5 was International Volunteer Day – a day where volunteers across the world are celebrated and thanked for their efforts to voluntary service.
This year’s theme was ‘If Everyone Did', a reminder that we can all make a difference, no matter how big or small, if we offer our time to pitch in and help out.
To say thank you to local volunteers, many of whom work with seniors in our community, our Community Care team put on morning tea at the Banora Point Community Centre. The event was a fantastic way to connect with others and celebrate those that go above and beyond in helping make the Tweed such a great place to live.
It’s estimated there are almost 6 million volunteers in Australia alone. These selfless heroes, including those that volunteer in the Tweed, do their bit to make our communities stronger and more connected.
