Heads or tails - either way, Tweed’s a winner
26 November 2021
Heads or tails – it’s a simple call to make but one which is the basis of a unique promotion for Tweed Heads businesses by the Tweed Tourism Company (TTC).
The digital campaign, titled Tweed Heads (or Tails), aims to draw attention to Tweed businesses in the border area who have been hit by COVID-19 restrictions while giving the public the chance to win great prizes.
Tweed Heads (or Tails) will focus on positive stories about businesses in the area during the 10-day campaign which starts on 29 November and runs until 8 December 2021.
The campaign centres around a daily coin flip, held at a different business location.
Participants who register will vote via their smartphones for 'heads' or 'tails' before a coin toss decides their fate.
Registrations will be taken right up until the first flip of the coin but people can still join in after that to be in the running for daily prizes.
Make the wrong call and you are eliminated from the major draw competition, or win and continue in the hope of being the winner at last coin toss standing.
The coin toss will be shared live across TTC’s official Instagram @thetweed_nsw and Facebook @thetweed pages.
Each featured business has the opportunity to tell their story while showing off the Tweed.
Tweed businesses have contributed to the major prize pool comprising accommodation, dining and activity vouchers worth $2,500.
However those participants who have been eliminated are still be in the running, for $3,500 in a daily prizes pool.
Tweed Tourism Company General Manager Bradley Nardi said the campaign was a great way to showcase the range and quality of businesses in Tweed Heads and to also welcome the opening of the state border ahead of the summer holiday season.
The Tweed Tourism Company worked with Apex Ad Agency, based in Kingscliff, to develop the initiative.
