The Old People Are Revolting and they are coming back to the Murwillumbah Auditorium by popular demand.
This highly successful comedy, previously performed in Tweed after the floods by the Murwillumbah Theatre Company, is back to allow Murwillumbah residents and surrounds to enjoy it again.
This production will be held on Friday and Saturday 5 and 6 August at 7:30 pm and a matinee on Sunday 7 August at 2 pm at Council's Murwillumbah Auditorium.
When the city council decides to end its rates rebate for the elderly, the pen-pushers in the Town Hall have no idea what anarchy they are about to release.
Led by tough former trade union firebrand, Shirley, and the ebullient former car salesman, Howie, the residents decide to prove to the world just how dangerous seniors can be.
Bursting with eccentric characters and strange shenanigans, while cleverly exploring attitudes to senior citizens in our communities, this play provides an evening of sparkling entertainment.
In a case of good timing or sheer luck, this comedy is being staged during Local Government Week (1-7 August).
There are 3 performances only and tickets are available online. Seating will be cabaret style at tables with BYO food and drinks.
There are no COVID-19 restrictions but patrons are advised to exercise personal responsibility.
