Green and hard waste collection underway.

Most of Tweed Shire Council’s major water pumps are back online and handling normal water use. Crews have also successfully repaired all major water pipe bursts. This means the 'Conserve Water Now' restrictions have been lifted and residents and businesses can resume normal water use, including washing flood or storm affected properties and cleaning flood or storm debris outdoor.
In addition, Boil Water Alerts for Terranora, Bilambil Heights, and Banora Point were lifted on Tuesday following consultation with NSW Health. Residents in these areas can now safely drink tap water. For more details, read the full media release here.
While there are currently no water restrictions, Council encourages the community to continue using water responsibly and meet the target of 160 litres per person, per day. As a reminder, a standard garden hose can use 15 to 20 litres of water per minute.
For water-saving tips, visit Target 160 litres.
Some residents may notice cloudy or ‘milky’ water from their taps. This is caused by harmless air bubbles due to recent flow reversals and pipe repairs. Simply allow the water to sit for a few minutes and it will clear up.
For any issues with water supply or quality, please contact Council on 02 6670 2400 (available 24/7).
