Sports events – schools and Government agencies
Council sports fields are available to the community for casual hire. Most of the sports fields are licensed under seasonal agreements with local sports clubs, however they can be used by schools, Government agencies and the general public outside licensed hours.
Submitting an online application
Applications must be received a minimum of 10 ten working days prior to the event to allow time for processing.
Before submitting an application, ensure you:
- Call Council’s Parks and Active Communities Unit on 02 6670 2400 to check availability, make a tentative booking, and get contact details for the seasonal licence-holding sports club.
- Contact the relevant sports club to discuss your intended usage, as you will be required to make a statement and enter details regarding your discussion.
- Complete and submit the online form.
If you are applying for several events, please provide one application form per event.
Tentative bookings will be held for one week to allow time for submission of the online application.
On the days of your event, a signed digital or paper copy of the licence must be presented to a Council Officer if requested.
Note: Council does not accept backup bookings. If your event is cancelled due to weather conditions or field closures, contact Parks and Active Communities on 02 6670 2400 to arrange an alternative date. Check Council's website for any sports field closures prior to your event.
For interschool carnivals and regional events, schools must collaborate to nominate one applicant. The applicant will receive the licence and is responsible for providing a copy to all schools involved.
