New Fingal Boat Harbour public toilet upgrade

New Fingal Boat Harbour public toilet

We are upgrading the public toilet amenities at New Fingal Boat Harbour in Fingal Head to make them more welcoming, flood resilient and accessible for everyone.

Located along the picturesque shoreline of the Tweed River, adjacent to the popular New Fingal boat ramp and pontoon, this area is popular for boating, fishing and opportunities to relax and enjoy stunning river views. These upgrades aim to support the health and wellbeing of Fingal Head residents and visitors alike.

Project Schedule

  • Planning:  Mid 2024, pending approvals

  • Refurbishment of the existing public toilets
  • One new unisex accessible public toilet
  • One female toilet
  • One male toilet and urinal
  • Linking pathways

Why it’s happening

The February 2022 flood caused significant damage to the internal and external walls and doors of the public toilet, as well as to its fixtures and fittings. Upgrading the public toilet is a high priority in the Council’s Open Space Strategy.
