Black Rocks Sports Complex car park upgrade

Black Rocks IMage.jpg

We’re enhancing the resilience of the car park at Black Rocks Sports Complex to better manage future floods and provide easy access for all visitors to the sports facilities, including the croquet field and the Pottsville & District Men’s Shed. The upgrade will include a new asphalt car park, connecting footpaths, and additional tree planting for enhanced shade and amenities. The current car park is only turfed and in need of improvement.

Project schedule

  • Planning: Mid 2024
  • Construction: Early to Mid 2025

What’s involved

  • New asphalt car park with an improved entrance from Overall Drive
  • Two accessible parking spaces
  • Connecting pathways
  • Concrete edging around the perimeter of the car park
  • Returfing of damaged areas
  • New tree planting

Why it’s happening

Severe weather and flooding in 2022 caused substantial damage to the internal access road and carpark, severely damaging the road surface and causing road subsidence.

How it’s getting done
