Bilambil Sports Complex West car park upgrade

Bilambil Sports Complex West.jpg

We are enhancing the resilience of the car park at Bilambil Sports Complex West to better handle future floods, ensuring that sports facilities remain accessible and functional for all.

The upgrade includes asphalt surfacing and concrete edging, along with additional native trees for increased shade and aesthetic appeal. We are also adding new accessible parking spaces and connecting footpaths to improve access to the building.

Project Schedule

  • Planning: Mid 2024
  • Construction: Late 2024 to Early 2025

What's involved

  • New asphalt carpark spaces (46 spaces) with concrete edging
  • Two accessible car parking spaces
  • Ramp and connecting pathways
  • Minor drainage improvements
  • Additional tree planting
  • Returf disturbed areas

Why it’s happening

Floods in 2017 and 2022 caused major damage to the car park, lifting large sections of asphalt and causing ongoing issues. We will make minor drainage improvements and resurface the internal access road and carpark with asphalt and concrete edging to enhance its durability against future floods.
