Fun Activities for Banora Seniors (FABS)
FABS Market Stalls
Council supports The Fun Activities for Banora Seniors (FABS) Program which offers a range of recreational activities such as social, hobby and gentle exercise groups for seniors.
These activities operate throughout the week at Banora Point Community Centre (BPCC).
FABS also runs special events during the year such as exhibitions, get-togethers and milestone celebrations.

These groups are part of FABS. Cost per session is $2 unless advised otherwise. This cost includes a cuppa and a biscuit.

Art and craft
- Cards and chat | 4th Tuesday of the month 9 am – 12 noon and 3rd Friday 9 am – 12 noon
- Needlework | Tuesday 9:30 am – 12 noon
- Wrap with love | 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday of the month 10:30 am – 12 pm noon
- Scrapbooking | Tuesday 12:30 – 4 pm
- Mosaics | Tuesday 1:30 – 3:30 pm
- Sketch and draw ‘sketching satchel’ | 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month 9:30am – 12 noon
- Crochet | Friday 12:15 – 2:30 pm
- Art Group | Friday 1 – 4 pm

- Gentle exercise | Tuesday 7:30 – 8:30 am, Friday 7:30 – 8:30 am and Friday 8:45 – 9:45 am
- Qi Gong | Tuesday 12:30 – 1:50 pm
- Walking | Wednesday 7 – 9 am
- Yoga | Wednesday 12:15 pm
- Chair Yoga| Friday 10 – 10:45am
Singing and music
- Ukulele | Tuesday 2 – 4pm

Books, brains and games
- Book Club | 2nd Tuesday of the month 10 am – 12 noon
- Playing cards | Tuesday 1 – 4pm and Friday 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Stretch Your Mind | Friday 10 am – 12 noon
- Mah Jong | Friday 12:15 – 4 pm
Special interest
- Family History | 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month 9 am
- Tech generations | Thursdays during the school term. Time to be advised.

The history of FABS
FABS was born 2007 when the local community asked for more social opportunities for Tweed seniors in and around Banora Point. Since then, the program has thrived, now offering a range of hobby, interest groups for seniors to get involved in.
Fabs is now supported by Council and managed by a volunteer committee.
Banora Point Community Centre
BPCC is the home of FABS and a for-hire venue outside of FABS activities.
It is also an information hub for people wanting to know about local community services.

FABS Art and Craft Market
Council and the FABS Commitee are currently calling for stallholders for the FABS Art and Craft Market which will take place on Saturday 15 March from 9 am to 2 pm at BPCC.
Stalls are free of charge and stallholders of all ages are encouraged to join.
Whether you specialise in pottery, jewellery making, textiles, artwork, woodcraft, or homemade treats, the FABS team would love to hear from you.
