It's always best to swim at a patrolled beach.
No fires on beaches
Council does not permit the lighting of fires on Council controlled land, this includes beaches. Please report fires to NSW Fire 000.
Permits for beaches
If you would like to use Tweed beaches for a business purpose, contact Council for the appropriate permit:
Horses on beaches
Horses may be ridden on beaches where there is no signage stating that this activity is prohibited. This also includes coastal creek areas.
Horses are not permitted in areas patrolled by surf life saving associations or where there are areas of high pedestrian traffic.
Riders are requested to remove and dispose of any manure that may be deposited in a public place.
Council anticipates the cooperation of all equine clubs and horse riders in this matter and favours self-regulation. However, failing to comply with the above request may result in Council action under the regulations.
