Flood monitoring cameras help the NSW State Emergency Service (SES), Council and other emergency services gather important data during floods. They also allow the community to check road closures, flood levels and impacts to better prepare for flooding.

These cameras are strategically placed across key flood-prone areas in consultation with SES.

The Flood Monitoring Cameras Policy(PDF, 140KB) has been updated to enhance image display on this page, now showing up to 4 hours of images refreshed every 15 minutes, offering a clearer and more comprehensive view of flood conditions.

The first 6 flood monitoring cameras were funded by the Australian Government’s Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, with 6 more funded by the NSW Government’s Local Small Commitments Allocation Program.

More cameras may be installed in the future if funding becomes available.

Images are updated every 15 minutes. Cameras may not work as well during low light conditions and severe weather. Contact us for more information.
